Why Send Your Own Antler?
Most antler ring makers use commercially sourced antler. Jewelry by Johan goes further: if you have a shed antler or trophy rack that carries personal meaning — a first harvest, a record buck, a season you'll carry for the rest of your life — our craftsmen can turn that specific piece of antler into a ring you wear every day.
The result is something no catalog can offer. Your ring carries the exact grain, color, and character of your antler — the same material that came from the same animal, on the same land, in the same season you remember.
What Antler Can You Send?
We accept deer, elk, and moose antler — shed or from a harvest. The antler should be reasonably clean and dry. A single main beam from a typical white-tailed deer provides enough material for multiple rings, so you do not need to send the entire rack.
The Process — Step by Step
Step 1 — Contact us. Reach out at Jewelry by Johan with your antler details (species, approximate size, condition), your ring size, and your preferred metal and width. Our team will confirm the details and provide a quote.
Step 2 — Verify your ring size. This is critical. Antler rings cannot be resized after crafting. Use our sizing guide or order a custom ring sizer ($10) before proceeding.
Step 3 — Ship your antler. We provide shipping instructions after your inquiry is confirmed. Pack your antler securely — wrap in bubble wrap and use a sturdy box. Include your name, order details, and contact information inside the package.
Step 4 — Crafting. Our bench jewelers section your antler, shape the inlay, set it into your chosen metal band, apply Ring Armor protective coating, and laser-engrave your chosen text (up to 25 characters, free with every ring).
Step 5 — Delivery. Your finished ring ships back to you. Any unused portions of your antler are returned along with the ring.

Trophy antler custom rings are not eligible for return or exchange — they are one-of-a-kind pieces made from your unique materials. Lead times for custom orders are longer than in-stock rings; contact Jewelry by Johan for current estimates. Free laser engraving up to 25 characters is included with every custom ring.
