Why Width Matters
Ring width affects three things: how prominent the ring looks on the hand, how visible the antler inlay is, and how comfortable the ring feels during daily wear. Choosing the right width is one of the most important decisions in selecting an antler ring — second only to getting the correct size.
4mm — Narrow and Refined
A 4mm band is narrow and understated. The antler inlay is present but subtle — a thin line of warm ivory color. This width is most popular for women's rings and for men who prefer minimal jewelry. It is also a good choice for people who are sensitive to the feel of a ring on their finger and prefer as little bulk as possible.
6mm — The Versatile Standard
6mm is the most versatile ring width — suitable for both men's and women's rings, appropriate for a wide range of hand sizes, and wide enough to display the antler's character clearly without being overwhelming. If you are unsure which width to choose, 6mm is the safest starting point.
8mm — Bold and Classic
8mm is the classic men's wedding band width. At this width, the antler inlay is clearly visible and makes a strong visual statement. The ring has a substantial feel on the hand. Best suited to medium-to-large hands.
10mm and Above — Statement Width
10mm and wider rings are bold, prominent statement pieces. They work best on larger hands and for people who want the ring to be a visible, deliberate part of their look. Elk and moose antler — with their larger inlay sections — are particularly well-suited to wide band styles.
Width and Sizing
Wider rings fit slightly tighter than narrow rings because they cover more of the finger's taper. If you are between sizes and selecting a band wider than 8mm, consider going up half a size. Use our sizing guide for detailed guidance.
