What Are Deer Antler Earrings?
Deer antler earrings feature sections of naturally shed antler set into metal earring settings — studs, drops, or hoops. The antler provides the warm ivory-and-tan color and organic cellular texture that makes this material so distinctive. Each pair is unique because each section of antler is unique.
How They Are Made
Our bench jewelers in Minneapolis cut thin sections from naturally shed antler, shape them to fit the earring setting, and finish each face by hand. Ring Armor protective coating is applied to seal the antler surface. Metal components — posts, backs, and setting frames — are crafted in the chosen metal (silver, gold, etc.).
Weight and Wearability
Deer antler is a lightweight material — antler earrings are noticeably lighter than comparable metal earrings. This makes them comfortable for all-day wear. The organic material is also naturally warm against the skin.
Styling Antler Earrings
The warm ivory and tan tones of deer antler pair beautifully with earth tones, forest greens, warm browns, and camel/tan outfits. They work equally well with natural fiber fabrics (wool, linen, cotton) and with more polished looks. The effect is natural and grounded — not bohemian or costume-y when styled thoughtfully.
Care for Antler Earrings
Follow the same care guidelines as for antler rings: keep dry when not wearing, avoid harsh chemicals, and store away from direct sunlight. Ring Armor coating protects the antler but is not a substitute for basic care. See our full care guide — the same principles apply to all antler jewelry.
